How to add an image to your blog post

  • Click within the text editor where you would like the image to roughly appear.
  • Click upon the "blue camera" button labeled "Insert or update an embedded image".The Blue Camera insert or update embedded image button
  • A window will appear titled “Add image”. By default it displays all the images you’ve uploaded, but it’s possible to browse through and select any image that’s been uploaded to the site.The Image Assist popup
  • To browse the available images click upon the drop down box alongside the text “Browse images” and then click upon the gallery you wish to view.Selecting an image gallery
  • The images in the selected gallery are then displayed 6 to a page. You may scroll through the pages by clicking upon the next or previous links etc. If the image you want to include isn’t present in this gallery simply pick another gallery from the Browse Images drop down.
  • When you have identified the image you wish to include in your post, click upon it.Selecting an image
  • The window is then updated to display information about the image you've selected. If you've changed your mind about this image click upon the button labelled start over and find an image you’d like to add.
  • There's only one option that you might want to change on this page, where you'd like your image to appear in relation to where you clicked the cursor. Note the drop down box alongside the text label "Alignment". There are a number of options:
    • Left: the image will appear on the left side of the page with the text flowing around it to the right.
    • Right: the image will appear on the right side of the page with the text flowing around it to the left.
    • None: the image will appear exactly where you placed the cursor originally.
    • Centre: the image will appear in the centre of the page with the text flowing to either side.

  • Click upon the button labelled "Insert" to insert your image into your post.An image inserted into text

Please note if you'd like to reposition the image just drag the image about the text editor's window. If you wish to update or change the image just click upon it to select it and then click upon the blue camera button.

You can include as many images you wish in a post. However please try to avoid adding images in the first couple of paragraphs of the text (the first 400 characters to be precise).
