How to upload an image
- Please take a look at the Dochas Code of Conduct on Images and Messages.
- Transfer your photos to a computer with internet access. Please note that the maximum size for an individual image is 10 Megabytes.
- Log into your account.
- Click upon the link to the Community section of the website in the main navigational bar.
- Examine the menu column on the left hand side of the Community page, click upon the link titled "Upload an image".
- You'll be presented with a page titled "Create image". Click within the text input box labeled "Title" and enter a short title for the image, ideally three to five words.
- Click upon the button labeled "Browse" to select the image you wish to upload. This will open your operating system's file browser window:
- Navigate to where your image is stored.
- Select your image by clicking upon it.
- Click upon the button labeled "Open" to set this image as the one you wish to upload.
- Now select the appropriate Image Gallery for the image:
- Click upon the drop down box beneath the text "Image Galleries"
- Scroll through the list and click upon the most appropriate image gallery. Please note that when it comes to including an image in a blog post etc. you're not limited in any way to only using images from a certain gallery, all that specifying a gallery here does is ensure the image is in a logical place.
- In the text box beneath the label "Tags" if you wish you may enter a comma separated list of terms that describe the image e.g. moth, insect, farm woodland. As you type you may notice that the text box drops down to display various words, these are existing terms that people have used, if one of them closely matches what you were intending please click upon it.
- In the text box labeled "Description" please enter a more detailed description of the image. Dont worry about formatting the text, the aim is to give someone looking at the image some context of what the image is about, where it was taken, who it was taken by, what's going on in the image etc.
- If you're happy with the image and the information you've entered please click upon the button labeled "Save". Please note that depending upon the size of the image and the speed of your internet connection it may take a while to upload it.
- Once the image has been successfully uploaded you'll be taken to the page for that image in the image gallery.
