Annette's Journal: Alles ist gut in Deutschland!

Hi everyone!

I'm here in Germany a month now, and have just over 3 weeks left. School is going well, and I'm able to speak more freely to my friends in school and at home also. I have a maths exam tomorrow and an english exam next week. I  try to understand the maths but it is difficult. The weather is good here today in Löhndorf village. It is 22 degrees. Very warm! I am learning new vocab each day and am becoming more confident with the language. I'm doing a lot of sightseeing with my host family and friends. We we're supposed to go to Köln last weekend but the weather was not so good! I am going this weekend instead with some friends. I can't wait to see the beautiful city of Köln! My host family are really nice and very helpful. Last Sunday we travelled to a place called Linz to see the "flee markets". We had to travel by ferry to the other side of the river Rhine.  I have adjusted well to the german way of life. It's very different than Ireland in a lot of ways. The school day is longer but we have more freedom here. Most people  have some free classes throughout the day, if their timetable is not so full.  My confidence is constantly growing and I believe that I am more independent than before. I hope to expand my german vocab even more in the next 3 weeks.

Tschüss für jetzt! Bis später!

Hi!

Hi Genevieve!

Yes the time flies over here. I am pretty used to the german way of life now and am in a routine that I have adjusted to. Yes i tried putting photos up also but this computer is a bit old and it wouldn't let me. It was taking so long. I will try again but if it doesn't work I hope it is okay to put them up when I'm home? Sorry for the inconvenience. But I have taken lots of photos and hope to have many more in the next 3 weeks!

Chat soon!

Photos?

HI Annette,

I love reading your blog. It really does show how each week is different and how your confidence grows once you adjust to a new language and lifestyle. All of the places your have visited sound wonderful. I hope you are taking lots of pictures! You can post them along with your blog too if you didn't know. We'd enjoy seeing you with your host family and new friends!

Enjoy your final 3 weeks! It goes by so quickly, doesn't it?
