Annette's Journal: Deutschland ist super!!

Hey everyone!

 

I am here in Germany 5 weeks now. The weather is so hot here now. Yesterday it was 33 degrees celcius. Today was just over 22 degrees celcius, but still very warm for me! I have done so much since my last blog. On Thursday I got very burned. I was in the sun for too long I think! Now it is very painful!! I will be tanned hopefully when I'm back in Ireland!  Last Friday I went to Köln city with some friends. I saw the famous Köln Dome. It was truly magnificent. It is so big and inside was just outstanding aswell as the outside. We also went shopping and sat by the river Rhine for some time. It was really fun and the weather was superb.

 

Then on Saturday I went to Trier city with my host parents. It is one of the oldest cities in Germany. We saw the Konstantin Basilika, Jesuitenkirche and many more places. There's just too many to list!! That was a very long day. It was a long trip to Trier. Over 2 hours long.

 

Then on Sunday, I went with my host  family to Bad Neunahr (the town where my school is  - Are Gymnasium). There was a festival on there and it was really good. The weather was also beautiful that day. The shops were opened which doesn't usually happen on a Sunday there. The atmosphere was very nice. I had a long day in school again today. From 7:55am to 4pm! Some days I'm just so tired in the evening that I need a rest. I am speaking more freely in german to my friends and host family now and I feel I am much better than last week even. I am more confident going up to someone in a shop as I can speak german to them better than before!

 

I am taking many photos but unfortunately this computer is a bit old and has difficulty uploading them, so I will have them up as soon as I'm back! I have just a little over 2 weeks left here in Deutschland. I love it here in Germany but I do also miss home, and can't wait to go home to tell my friends, family and all the people I love all the stories I have. Without the help of EIL Ireland, I would not be here so I would like to say thanks to them for their help!
