Hong Kong : My first blog:P

Hey everyone, As you can see this is my first blog.Anyway I'm Daniel Cronin and I'm from Cork.I go to Nagle community college which I will be heading into 6th year next year.I never thought the voluntary work I do in my community could lead to something like this.I never thought id be picked when I went up for the final interview,when I got to know the rest of the finalists I really didn't think I would be pick they were really strong candidates but I made good friends up there too.

Iv never been outside Europe and never thought id go to somewhere like Hong Kong so a trip like this would be amazing iv only been out of Ireland twice,once when I went to England and once to Italy for the world cup in Taekwon-do where I represented Ireland.I had heard off this award a year previous one of my friends actually got picked for it and he was telling me all about it and how amazing of a time he had and how I should go for it I never thought I would go for it but my youth worker came up to me a few months ago and told me all about it and how she thinks I should give it a go so I did and here I am a few weeks away from a trip of a life time.I was in school when I got the call it was exactly 2 weeks after the interview so I ran out of class to answer it while half trying to explain it to my teacher,he didn't mind after I came back in and explained the whole thing he was very happy for me and told our principal who later came and congratulated me.It actually took about a week for it to set in that I was going to Hong Kong my family were so happy and proud of me.

Now that im only a few weeks away from our trip im trying to make sure I have everything I need and that its all in order and trying my hand at a bit of chinese language cant say im the best at it tho.its going to be such a change to what im used to but i cant wait I love trying new things and this will be the biggest change I will have so far.I look forward to working with everyone else who has been chosen and everyone who is heading our team.
