Hi everyone back in Ireland. Nigeria is crazy. I arrived last Wednesday with Karen another volunteer from EIL, we landed in Lagos and minute you walk out the door you know you in another world. We walked to the car park were we changed money on the Black market it was scary stuff we the drove through Lagos and I have never seen so many people. I heard there are 17 million people in Lagos I think I seen them all. We then stayed in a 5* hotel thank you EIL, It was lovely. The next day we drove to Ibadan the traffic was crazy, no road safety code in Nigeria I tell you that, it was a fun trip we had fried plantain and corn cooked on the side of the road it was nice!

When we arrived in Ibadan we went straight to the SYTO office only to pass a few wondering goats on the way, not something you see in Dublin I tell ya. We met with Mrs. Davis and her co workers who took us on a tour of the city they took us to the zoo and to the markets and then we had some pounded yam it was nice, I think!! I then met my host family and they were lovely they cook me what ever I want and treat me really nice. I also got to use the taxi service hear witch is a lot of fun you stand on the side of the road and a battered car beeps if its going your way you get in, the people of Nigeria are so nice and are always trying to help while not letting me forget I am white, Oyinbo (o ee bow} I hear this word more than any other, it means white person in Yoruba.
I am also working in Chiprom its an orphanage there are 16 children in total its a lot of fun the kids and staff are great. This I have to admit
is one really big adventure thanks again EIL I will keep you all updated.
