second week is the hardest!!!
Hi everyone
I just want to start this blog with an apology. I would like to apologize to Hotpoint, Boosch and every other washing machine manufacturer. I have used and abused your technology for the last 23yrs and never stopped to thank you so thank you and I will not forget you again in fact I love my washing machine. This washing clothes by hand is not something I wish to continue on my returned to Ireland.
So back to Nigeria or as I have christened it Noelgeria, everyone has being tell me since I arrive that the second week is the hardest and I tell you something they were not lying, this week has been hard I felt really home sick and have being miss my daughter Allie but I have been speaking to her a lot so that has helped. I am also getting used to sharing my house with lots of new creatures such as cockroach’s lizards and mosquitoes. The heat and the foods also Nigeria has no stable or reliable source of electricity and water so it has taking some getting used to but I am fine not having TV or shower that bad yet!!!
But that is worst of it homesick and insects. The people of Nigeria have been amazing sure I am still the famous Oyinbo everywhere I go people shout it. Its like being famous, its hard work ha !So this week I have been to church and that was an experience the only way I can describe it is like being in a school play without the lines on the first night of the show. You’re lost but you have lots of fun. I have also gotten to see more of Ibadan as my co worker Eva from Germany has been showing me around and introducing me new friends, she is also showing me the ropes at Chiprom and help me get used to the culture as she has been here since march. Well that’s all I have to say this week thanks for reading
