So far in Vermont!

Hi all,

It is difficult to even know where to start. The last few days have been well, nothing short of absolutely amazing!!!!!

Everbody I meet has an amazing story to tell. I know for certain that the people I have met on this programme, and in fact the people sitting beside me right now at the student centre will be life-long friends. I am enjoying every minute of the experience. Every discussion is as interesting as the next one ranging from effective leadership to global warming. I have become so aware of the many problems faced by our fellow human beings across the globe and not only that, but I have also learned many skills from Organisational to t-shirt making!!!!!

Yesterday, Independence day, was by far the highlight of the programme. I was honoured to read from the Declaration of Independence in the town park in Brattleboro. We all marched in the parade with various signs on issues that affect us as young people today. Afterwards we went for a swim in the lake and had a tasty barbecue at Simon's (the programme organiser) house. The day was completed with a panoramic view of fireworks from the hilltops.

I cannot believe that we are halfway through the programme already. I would like to thank everyone at EIL for this opportunity, especially Fiona, and I would like to thank our group leader, Katie also. Thanks again and you will hear from me again on my return!    :-)
