EIL Intercultural Learning

Twice a year (in April and November) EIL Network members and staff meet for practical and informative workshops, debates and activities on global issues and lots of fun at the network weekends. The next Network weekend will take place in Dublin on the 21st and 22nd of April.

Participants in the Volunteer Abroad programme are invited to attend the predeparture workshop.

Network members are invited to participate in the November Network week end in Cork.

March 21st is the International Day for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and part of the European-wide Action Week against Racism. The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) is hosting regional seminars for youth leaders and minority ethnic communities in three regions - Monaghan (22 March), Galway (28 March), and Kilkenny (1 April).

Launch of the photo exhibition "Visions in Solidarity: Images of HIV and AIDS"

NYCI is running a training on Tackling Racism Homophobia and Sexism in Cork City on the 15th March.

This course will help participants to understand stereotyping, discrimination and prejudice and how they relate to racism, homophobia and sexism. It will help participants identify racism, homophobia and sexism and will present methods for tackling them.

This nine evening participatory evening course aims to equip participants with the skills and methodologies to work effectively with groups on global development and social justice issue in a friendly, informal group environment. This course is open to anyone with an interest in educating or raising awareness about development and inequality, including but not limited to youth and community workers, and teachers.
