The 1st of December marks World Aids Day: 33 million people are currently living with HIV with 67% of these living in sub-Saharan Africa. To mark the day the participants to the EIL Global Awareness Programme 2009 present true accounts of how HIV affects people in Africa and dispel myths and misinformation.

What Is PEP: Post Exposure Prophylaxis? Lynda Piper Roche, Global Awareness Volunteer in South Africa 2009 Prophylaxis means disease prevention. Post-exposure prophylaxis is when someone is given a course of medication to prevent infection from taking place, for example from rabies or HIV.
