German scholarship group enjoy Irish farm life

In front of cleared rhododendron branches: In front of cleared rhododendron branches as part of clearing native woodland on the farmAmongst the projects they have been involved with are building a bridge and clearing invasive rhododendron bushes from a native woodland on the farm. This is essentially part of the overall environmental project on the farm. They plan to have a big bonfire with all of the branches! Every day, they collect eggs from the hens, help to feed the pigs, goats and hens and they pick grapes and berries which grow in the greenhouse. This week they even helped the farmer Colin kill a turkey and then they plucked it before cooking it for dinner! The two boys, Denis and Marvinseem like working with the animals and the two girls, Joyce and Mihriban are taking very good care of a family of kittens who like to play in the garden outside their house. Overall they are really enjoying life on a farm in Ireland.
