FINANCE OFFICER

EIL Intercultural Learning is an Irish educational charity which provides intercultural
learning opportunities through study abroad, youth leadership, language training, travel
awards, group educational programmes, and other cultural immersion activities for
over 2,500 people each year.

We wish to recruit an experienced accounting technician with a high level of
integrity and an ambition to grow and expand the role into a Finance Manager
position over the next 2 – 3 years.

Responsibilities:

  • All accounting duties (we use SAGE 50)
  • All Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable / Credit Control
  • Weekly payroll
  • Reconciliation of bank, debtors, and creditors accounts
  • Invoice and online payments via IBB Banking
  • Revenue Returns/ROS
  • Preparation of regular Management Accounts / Monitoring of margins
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Preparation of Accounts to trial balance
  • Assisting Auditors with year-end accounts
  • Identifying and implementing initiatives to deliver efficiencies and improvement
  • Various Ad-Hoc projects/tasks in Finance Department and day to day finance duties

You will require:

  • Accounting Technician Qualification
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in all-round accounts role
  • Experience of SAGE 50, Payroll Management Software, ROS, Internet Banking
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience with the ability to process and present data
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to work under your own initiative
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to complete all tasks and to work efficiently to deadlines
  • Ability to work well with people and build effective relationships across the business
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • An ambition to grow the position in to a Financial Manager role
