1. ADMINISTRATOR (General): Reporting to the CEO this exciting and fast paced role takes full accountability in overseeing a busy front office, managing stationery supplies/equipment servicing, facility management as well as providing general administrative support to specific staff working in Garda Vetting, Accounts and Global Citizen Award. The position carries the following responsibilities:

  • Front office reception, visitors, phones and general email (to meet and greet clients/visitors in a professional and friendly manner)
  • To act as the first point of contact for incoming calls and responding to emails in a timely way
  • To track, update and order office supplies, equipment servicing
  • General upkeep/maintenance of building -To ensure that our property is serviced regularly and manage relationships with our chosen suppliers (including cleaner and repair/maintenance contractor)
  • Provide Garda vetting administration support to Senior Programme Manager.   (collecting proof of identity documents, etc. from host families and volunteers)
  • Engage with the Global Citizen Award Coordinator & Finance Manager to provide ongoing administration support
  • Supervise Intern(s) and allocate a list of tasks for completion each week/month
  • Ensure that all post is franked and delivered to post office


  • Qualifications in secretarial/ administration studies an advantage
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in an office administration role
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Organizational skills / ability to multi-task
  • Strong initiative / Problem solving skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task, manage own time and negotiate priorities in association with the CEO and three other staff: Senior Manager, Finance Manager and Global Citizen Award Coordinator

Knowledge Required:

  • Receptionist / customer service practices
  • Office management procedures
  • Garda vetting procedures would be an advantage
  • Excel and Database experience a strong advantage
  • The workings of a busy office environment

Salary: €25,000 plus pension contribution

2. PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATOR (Study Abroad): The purpose of this role is to strengthen the Study Abroad Team through the provision of effective, timely administrative and logistical support. The Programme Administrator works in tandem with the Programme Manager and Coordinator to ensure that all elements of the Secondary School / Language courses in Ireland and abroad are successfully and professionally delivered.  The position carries the following responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to employees during the student application and placement processes
  • Provide logistical support for participants (recording student arrival/departure information, booking transport, venues, independent travel requests etc.)
  • Garda Vetting administrative support – processing and follow up
  • Provide logistical support for student orientations and events
  • Coordinate applications for Irish students wishing to study abroad
  • Liaise with international partners and schools
  • Provide support to Local Coordinators on student logistical/support issues where appropriate


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • At least two years administrative experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills which aid in developing professional relationships with colleagues, clients and partners in other countries
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail (including record keeping)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • The ability to work as part of a dynamic team as well as being able to work on own initiative
  • The ability to adapt, be flexible and to think on your feet

Knowledge Required:

  • Word, Excel, Google Drive/Docs/Forms and Email
  • Knowledge of Irish Secondary Education School system
  • Garda vetting procedures would be an advantage
  • A second European language would be an advantage

3. PROGRAMME MANAGER: Reporting to the CEO this challenging role provides an experienced leader with the opportunity to develop and manage a newly formed team/department.  The successful candidate in this role will build a group of experienced and high performing individuals in to a team, align synergies and bring each area of activity to the next level. This role carries the following responsibilities:

  • Build the newly formed department and work with the team to deliver clear growth strategies for each of the following three areas:
    • Global Citizen Award for returned international volunteers
    • EIL Volunteer Network (returned participants engaged in EIL activities)
    • EIL Explore travel scholarship programmes
  • Coach, mentor and motivate a high energy team to perform to their strongest abilities
  • Support and lead the team in the achievement of their respective specific objectives and targets:
    • Work with the GCA Coordinator to strengthen the structures and supports of the Global Citizen Award (GCA) to allow continued annual growth and national recognition
    • Support the GCA Coordinator in working with volunteer committees (Standards & Awards Committee and Global Education Committee)
    • Promote volunteer engagement in EIL by making 2019 the “Year of the Volunteer” in EIL
    • By 2019, grow EIL’s Explore Scholarship Programme into EIL’s flagship outbound programme
    • Strengthen the Explore Support Group (alumni group set up to support the Explore Programme through mentoring and other activities)
    • Introduce the promotion of ongoing global citizenship activities into all EIL programmes by 2019
  • Oversee the budgets for each of the programme areas
  • Contribute to the wider management and leadership of EIL through membership of the Management team
  • Fostering and maintaining positive relations with partners, funders, participants and volunteers


  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3 – 4 years working  in a fast moving and sometimes pressurised environment
