POSITION:          PROGRAMME COORDINATOR – EIL EXPLORE

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Programme Manager, this new, exciting and fast paced role will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning and successful operation of the EIL Explore Travel Awards https://www.eilexplore.ie/  

The successful candidate will join a small team and work alongside other colleagues who lead responsibility for the Global Citizen Award https://www.globalcitizenaward.ie/ and the EIL network members and alumni.

Responsibilities:

 

To coordinate

  • The marketing and promotion of the Awards
  • The application, shortlisting, interview and placement processes
  • Pre-departure workshops, debriefs, webinars and activities
  • Travel bookings, insurance and other logistical issues
  • Administration duties - updating files and databases
  • Garda Vetting
  • Engagement with the EIL network and Explore alumni and empower them to be   involved with programme events

To support

  • The Programme Manager in identifying new partnerships, co-funding opportunities and sponsorship opportunities
  • The participants as they go through the process (especially when they struggle with cultural adaption, homesickness and health issues)
  • The Mentors, Explore Support Group/Committee and other volunteers/alumni around Ireland who help promote and deliver the programme
  • To help grow and develop EIL Explore in to EIL’s “flagship” outbound programme

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 3 years working as part of an admin/support team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate groups and deliver trainings
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Ability to adapt, be flexible and to think on your feet
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Teamwork and people skills
  • Strong IT / Microsoft Office skills

Knowledge Required:

  • Appreciation and understanding of the voluntary and NGO sector in Ireland
  • Non formal educational methods & approaches
  • Child Protection and Child Protection Legislation
  • Social media usage and trends
  • PR and Marketing
  • UN Sustainable Development Goals/Global Justice Issues

Salary:  €30,000 plus pension contribution
