Study Abroad Programme Co-ordinator

The Programme Co-ordinator is a full time position working in the Inbound Study Abroad department of EIL. Key roles and responsibilities will be the day- to- day running, smooth operation and co-ordination of student programmes for international students studying in Ireland.

About the Role

The Programme Co-ordinator is a full time position working in the Inbound Study Abroad department of EIL. Key roles and responsibilities will be the day- to- day running, smooth operation and co-ordination of student programmes for international students studying in Ireland. Specific duties will include:

Programme Administration:

  • Process student applications received from international partners
  • Liaise with local coordinators in Ireland in relation to student placements
  • Process placement details, host family applications, and Garda vetting forms
  • Forward placement details to international partners
  • Co-ordinate flight/ arrival and departure details for transfers and meet/greet
  • Co-ordinate and monitor payments to host families, schools and coordinators
  • Collate evaluations and feedback from participants and host families
  • Coordinate logistics for arrival camps in Dublin and regional orientation workshops

 

Student and Local Coordinator Support:

  • Anticipate issues and trouble shoot solutions
  • Work with Local Coordinators (LC), students and international partners to resolve student support issues
  • Calm management of emergencies when they arise
  • Develop and write communications such as newsletters, training materials, brochures, programme proposals, handbooks and information leaflets
  • Lead or help lead training events, workshops and orientations
  • Building a strong relationship with EIL volunteers who work with the Study Abroad Team
  • Maintain and update website information, blogs, and other promotional materials
  • Work in tandem with Programme Manager to ensure targets are effectively met

 

The programme co-ordinator is expected to deputize on behalf of the programme manager in their absence and during that period assume the level of responsibility that the programme manager would normally carry.

Global Citizen Award Co-ordinator

The objective is to engage returned international volunteers across all Irish VSAs to become development education multipliers and advocates for global justice in Ireland.

There are three awards; Bronze, Silver and Gold – each tailored to the motivation of the individual volunteer. Each award represents an increasing level of engagement in awareness raising activities around development education / global education issues. To date 140 returned international volunteers have received Awards or are on the journey towards certification.

THE GLOBAL CITIZEN AWARD: is an initiative of EIL Intercultural Learning in association with 23 of Ireland’s leading Volunteer Sending Agencies (VSAs) in Ireland. The Award scheme is supported with financial aid from The Development Education Grant Scheme of Irish Aid. Comhlámh, IDEA and Dóchas are also actively supportive of The Awards.
