Last Saturday, we had an exciting and inspiring day preparing our Explore scholarship winners ahead of their summer adventures abroad!
The Explore Scholarship Programme is a core part of our mission at EIL Intercultural Learning, inspiring active global citizenship and personal development through intercultural learning and travel. Through Explore, we support young people to step outside their comfort zones, immerse themselves in new cultures, and return home with new perspectives and experiences that can positively impact their communities.
Throughout the day, we talked through what to expect as they prepare to immerse themselves in new cultures, the challenges they may face, and the incredible opportunities that come with living and learning in a different country. From building confidence to embracing new experiences, it was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and excitement from everyone involved.
We were also delighted to hear from two of our volunteers, Isabel and Rachel, who shared their own experiences of travelling on scholarship programmes. Their stories, advice, and reflections gave great insight and encouragement to our outgoing scholars as they get ready for this life-changing journey.
A huge thank you as well to our staff team and to our dedicated volunteer Rachel Maher, who helped facilitate the day and made it such a positive and engaging experience for all.
We can’t wait to follow our scholars’ journeys this summer and see all that they achieve as they travel, learn, and grow.
