EIL Ireland Joins Cork Chamber Business Breakfast to Discuss Skills, Innovation and Sustainability
EIL Ireland was delighted to attend the Cork Chamber Business Breakfast yesterday morning, where CEO Aideen O’Leary and Volunteer & Communications Manager Linda O’Connell joined leaders from business, education and community sectors for a thought-provoking discussion on the future of Ireland’s skills, innovation and sustainability landscape.
The event brought together a wide range of voices to explore how Ireland can continue to strengthen its position through investment in education, collaboration and talent development. Discussions throughout the morning highlighted the importance of building meaningful partnerships and creating opportunities that support both local communities and global engagement.

Attendees also heard from Professor John O’Halloran, President of University College Cork, who emphasised the vital role education plays in supporting democracy, inclusion and the development of respectful, engaged global citizens. These themes deeply resonate with the work EIL Ireland carries out through its international education and exchange programmes.
As Cork continues to lead in innovation, education and talent development, it was inspiring to be part of such an engaging conversation about how Ireland can continue to invest in people, partnerships and opportunities for the future.
The morning also provided a welcome opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and partners from across the sector, including Michelle Johnson FAIBF, Zahid Aslam of Munster Technological University, and Eoghan Hedderman of The Imperial Hotel Cork.
EIL Ireland extends sincere thanks to Cork Chamber for hosting another excellent event, and to all speakers and attendees for the insightful discussions and valuable connections throughout the morning.
