The EIL Explore Sports and Global Citizenship Scholarship Award combines football training, Spanish language learning and cultural exchange in Paraguay. Through the four-week AFS Paraguay Soccer Programme, participants discover how sport can connect people across cultures.
Develop your football skills in Paraguay
Based in Asunción, participants train with Paraguayan coaches at Club Cerro Porteño. Games and tournaments with local teams offer opportunities to learn through competition and teamwork.
Experience life beyond the pitch
Living with a local host family helps you discover everyday Paraguayan life. Practising Spanish through sport and daily conversations can build language confidence while cultural activities introduce you to local traditions and community life.

This award suits young people interested in football who are also willing to take part in cultural and language learning. Applications are particularly encouraged from disadvantaged and underrepresented communities and those who may not otherwise consider an international exchange.
